Verb aimed to revolutionize physical therapy by creating a web app that helps users recover one step at a time through personalized rehab plans. 

They partnered with Test Double as a startup with limited resources to bring this idea to life, taking the project from concept to completion.

The Fix

When you’re working on an MVP you want to make sure you’re building the right thing for the right person. Test Double partnered with Verb on a structured and iterative process, translating initial ideas into actionable steps and validating each phase with real-world user insights.

1. Building a clear go-to-market strategy

Our first priority was translating Verb’s vision into a concrete strategy. Through focused user groups, we gathered insights and developed detailed personas to ensure that every feature was aligned with the needs of the target audience. This process helped us refine the story behind the product and shape its go-to-market strategy.

2. Feature discovery & prioritization

With the user personas established, we conducted feature discovery sessions to prioritize the most impactful elements. Each feature was vetted against business goals and user needs to ensure maximum value. We used this information to develop a clickable prototype, which provided early validation and allowed us to refine the product before full development.

3. Efficient development cycles

Test Double managed the development process through iterative sprints, breaking the work into manageable phases to maintain flexibility and ensure the product could adapt to new insights.

We maintained a rigorous focus on managing the scope, making sure the MVP would launch within budget while still offering high-impact features. Our weekly cycles allowed for rapid adjustments, keeping everything aligned with Verb’s goals.

4. Managing releases & QA

To ensure a smooth user experience, we implemented a continuous release cycle. Each week, we managed feature releases, incorporating extensive QA testing to catch and resolve issues early. This consistent release cadence allowed Verb to see real-time progress and provide feedback on each iteration. As part of our collaboration, we also provided handoff training to ensure Verb’s team could manage ongoing updates post-launch.

5. Budget & profit stream management

Throughout the process, Test Double was diligent in tracking costs and ensuring the project stayed on budget. We also worked with Verb to identify potential revenue streams, evaluating additional features or verticals that could be added in the future to drive profitability. By keeping a close eye on the budget while planning for growth, we positioned Verb for long-term success.
